Step 1: The power supply is disabled. Either the washer is unplugged or the breaker in the main circuit panel that provides electricity to it is switched off.

Step 2: The fill and drain hoses linked to the water pump are detached. Any hose clamps that may be securing them are removed.

Step 3: The bottom access panel is removed. It is attached with screws, which need to be taken out prior to accessing the pump.

Step 4: The two mounting bolts that hold the pump in position are unscrewed. Two are located on the top of the pump and one on the side.

Step 5: The pump is extracted from the washer. If removal is resisted, additional screws or nuts may be securing it.

Step 6: The wire harness is disconnected from the motor.

Step 7: The new drain pump is positioned. It is fastened with the mounting screws.

Step 8: The wire harness is reconnected to the new motor.

Step 9: The fill and drain hoses are reattached. They are ensured secured firmly using hose clamps.

Step 10: The access panel is placed back in position.

Step 11: Power is restored by plugging the washer back in or turning the circuit breaker on.

Step 12: The washer's functionality is verified by running a cycle. If it operates correctly, the 5859EA1004G LG Washer Water Drain Pump Assembly has been successfully replaced.
